Testimonial (from Randy C.)
Right now I have the [RedShift/Koni] yellows
with sportlines and the ride is superb. I have the [RedShift/Koni] yellows a
half a turn back from max firm. As of yet they have given me no problems,
are super quiet, and have not bottomed out from any of the potholes or
uneven surfaces in my area. Even the launch from a dead stop is much
improved. You have a great product and you seem like a great group of
people. Best of luck to you in the future.

About
RedShift/Koni Sport "Yellow" Shocks
Widely considered the best street performance shock on the
market, these Koni Sport "Yellows" are adjustable in rebound
only so you can control the mass of your car in transitions
without negatively affecting the ability of the shock to let
the tire keep traction and without being harsh. The
best street shock is also at home on the track where it's
increased rebound valving offers superior traction and
control than any of it's competitors. Just ask around
and see what others say...those who know will tell you Konis
are the way to go on any performance street car ! ! ! |

FRONT SPORT
STRUT INSERTS
The RedShift/Koni front strut insert is the Koni Sport
"Yellow" originally design for the VW Corrado. It is
perfectly suited to this application because of it's
heritage on the Corrado. The insert is installed into
the stock strut housing here at RedShift. The
pricing below includes all required fabrication. We even
offer a "core" exchange so that you may receive a full kit,
ready to install, and then you simply send your front strut
housings back to us to receive your core deposit back in
cash. Or, you may keep your original strut housings and
forfeit the core charge. See options below.

REAR SPORT SHOCKS
The RedShift/Koni rear shock is the Koni Sport "Yellow"
originally designed for the 1995-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse.
It's perfectly suited to the 2006+ application because of
it's heritage as the rear shock on a similarly sporty FWD
sport compact (with almost exactly the same rear suspension
design). These shocks are also a few millimeters
shorter than the stock shocks; so the overall dimensions and
stroke are both perfect for this application (this was a
very important consideration in choosing the right shock for
this application). Lastly, the static upward force the
shock provides the 18 lbs, the same as stock; so this will
not change the ride-height of your configuration relative to
stock.

About RedShift
Adjustable Height Coilover Kits
We
have gone to great lengths to make the best coilover setup
available to be used with Koni shocks. The
shock/spring packages are listed below as well. These
are not a universal kit that we buy from overseas; rather
each part is design and manufactured specifically for the
2006 Honda Civic.
     |
|
FRONT COILOVER
|
|

The top cap that holds the insert
into the housing is integrated with the coilover
sleeve. This picture shows the stock lower
spring perch still attached, but in production, this
is always removed because the collar sits where the
stock perch is located. |

This is a little bit closer shot of
how the collar cap sits on the insert and holds it
in. It's an extremely strong and well
engineered design that will last forever on your
vehicle. |
|

Here is our front upper mount
conversion that is included with every coilover
suspension package. It's a trick aluminum CNC
piece that takes the place of 1/2 the stock strut
bearing. It comes complete with 2 O-rings for
sealing and holding the assembly together properly.
This is what allows us to use a longer spring in
front than the competition, for more travel. |

REAR ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT COLLAR

The rear collar sits in the upper
spring perch location and is fastened by a Nutsert
(see right-most picture).

2006+ Honda Civic Coupe and Sedan (all) |
NOTE: All RedShift/Koni shock/suspension packages
require fabrication on the stock front
strut housings.
PRICES BELOW NOW INCLUDE THIS FABRICATION
(we now weld a threaded piece on and normalize to heat treat
rather than threading the stock body).
The only option you
have is that RedShift can provide used housings for $180 so you
don't have to send your front struts to us (leaving your car out
of service). You will receive the complete suspension so you
can bolt your new suspension right on!!! That $180 charge is
fully cash refundable if you return your old housings (like a
core charge) or keep them and forfeit the $180.
Please note that only Civic Si housings will work because
non-Si housings have too large an outer diameter for our
threader; so our core refund only applies to Si housing returns.
If you have a non-Si model, you may still use the Si housings as
they bolt right up to your non-Si Civic.
Now available for Si and non-Si
front strut housings!!!!
so
no need to find Si housings for your non-Si! :) |

NOTES as of
2/11/09:
In front, the Koni
strut shaft is larger than the little stock one and a washer in the upper
mount needs to be drilled out (direction are supplied). For coilovers,
we provide a spring adapter so your 2.5" coilover springs sit properly onto the
stock top strut bearing.
We've been looking into camber plate designs, and
I was disappointed by the K-Mac design and I don't know of a good reasonable
alternative.
Another noteworthy thing about our setup is that the housing design
(modified stock housing btw) is the same on the for the Koni Reds, Koni
Yellows, Koni SA Race, and Koni DA Race!!! That's important because it means
once your housings are modified, any of the front strut insert options will
fit perfectly; so you can upgrade with very little effort. The rear shock is
not a coilover design and doesn't have a housing; so it's not an issue in
back... it's also very easy to change the rear shocks (takes about 5 minutes
for us).
(NEW) The front housings are modified with a cap that is threaded inside
and outside. We use a modified, threaded weldment to modify the front
strut housing. The we tighten our
coilover collar onto it...with the strut insert installed. We will remove the
stock front lower spring perch for our coilover setup so that a 6" spring
may be used (anything less becomes a suspension travel issue). It's a
very simple setup that is neat and strong!!! We can only use Civic Si
housings as the non-Si housings area little bit too big an outer
diameter for our 2.00"-18 threader tool. I am pleased to
say that we can now use non-Si housings (which means we can modify the
housings of any 2006+ Honda Civic now)!!
The rear height adjustable spring perch system from RedShift uses a top
mounted sleeve and perch that uses a Nutsert in the upper mount to
fasten it to the car's frame (the Nutsert and install tool are included). We decided that it was too important for us to provide the best
safety level we can, and several other rear setups we have seen allow the
spring and/or adjustment hardware to easily come off the car at full droop
while jacked up in the air. Now we are aware that it would be an unusual
circumstance that a spring would come loose during normal use, but we do
think it's possible; so our design incorporates the Nutsert fastener for
safety.
We are confident that RedShift/Koni suspension is the best suspension option
on the market with significant modularity (can upgrade without changing
hardware)!

FURTHER
ADVICE ON PERFORMANCE HANDLING FOR YOUR 2006+
HONDA CIVIC!
The advice I've given a few people already
is that the RedShift suspensions will all
work better with a rear swaybar and
RedShift Reinforcement Brackets. This is no different than
any suspension packages, but running a rear
bar allows you to run lower rates in the
back, and that allows for a great daily
driver that can hit the track and be fast.
And lastly, the #1 problem on the new Civic
is the lack of camber adjustment in front;
so I HIGHLY recommend a set of 2 aftermarket
camber bolts for the front of the car (1 per
side) to give yourself more like 1.1-1.5
degrees negative. The more the better. If
this were a trailered track car, we'd be
running around 3.0 degrees negative; so 1.5
deg is better than 1.1 deg, but the more
camber you put in, the more your tires will
wear on the inside. The harder you drive,
the more camber you should put in because
you may already have found that you tend to
wear out the outside of the tire with so
little camber. I would start with 1.25
degrees negative camber on any setup and see
how that works. You'll be blown away with
how much better your car handles at the
limit with more camber!
Ingalls P/N 35420 = ± 1° adjustment
(1 bolt per box at about $11 each)..... need
to purchase 2 of these for 1 bolt per side.
This is probably all you want to run on a
daily driver unless you are ok with reduced
tire life).
Ingalls P/N 81260 = ± 2° adjustment
(2 bolts per box at about $22
each)......need to purchase 2 of these for 2
bolts per side. More performance but reduced
tire wear. Only do this if you really care
about the last tenth of a second at the
track.
